Plastic Ants – A Poem by Ryan Quinn Flanagan

The halls
were filled with
plastic ants.

It was the creeping season,
aging baseboard heaters locked
in a long shiver.

And that housecoat I got for Christmas,
what a perfectly charming
cocoon.

A man
could stay hidden away
in there forever.
