Vanished – A Poem by Sunil Sharma

The piles everywhere,
protrusions of streets,

massed solids of grays
break from monotony
of
the ubiquitous mix of
cement-concrete-glass.

It rained today. The day
had warmed up, a buddy
running into an old friend
at
the signal, near the bus-stand.

The packs melted in streams
creating puddles that reflect

the lights of the passing trams.

No slush.
No black ice.
Nothing that makes one slip and fall!

Only
the networks
of the
long roads, washed in the fresh rain,

sans
any memory of ice that had blocked,
all the
pathways; obstructed easy movements.
